Seat upholstery - Where to buy? / Post your recovered seats!!

    Hey guys,

I'm looking to reupholster my sport seats. I've looked at a few kits on ebay but I'm not sure of the quality. I have Natural Tan with perforations. I'd really like to keep that same OE look but in German Vinyl.

So, where did you guys get your seats done or where did you buy the kit? Also, how easy was it to install?

Subscribed - on this same hunt.

Here are some OEM fabric references..

      Some nice examples here..

There is a guy here on r3v who does very nice seats - can't remember the name now, he may be referenced in that interior thread. I thought there were some issues with long delivery times, but I don't know the whole story.

EDIT - The name was Creative Options / Kevin Chinn.

Thanks for the link. That's out of my price range though.

They don't list anything for standard sport seats, just vert seats. That is a good price though for front and rear at $699.

I'm NOT having a good experience with leatherseats dot com right now. Long story short...

Ordered a custom kit black friday. Black vinyl with suede inserts. Ordered online with 10% off deal. Completed check out and got order number. Never recieved a conformation email. Called 4 days later. They have my order but won't honor it. They are saying they won't do the suede with the vinyl kit. Now, keep in mind the website let me order, and lets you build the kit that way. Only way they will do that is if I upgrade to the "premium" kit. So, now they are trying to upcharge me. I dont need leather and the website says nothing about the premium kit being needed to have a suede insert. I just want them to acknowledge what i ordered.

So, if you are planning on anything but a standard kit, watch out! Even if you look on their website and want a Deluxe Kit note where it shows leather on the rear seats of the picture. Sales guy says they actually don't do leather there. So, website is very misleading when putting together your package.

I'll report back if they make it right.

                  Andrew

Part of me wants to order that $500 eBay kit but I'm hesitant. Heard mixed reviews, can anyone voucher?

I bought from leatherseats.com and installed them myself on a MT2 project a while back. For the price, I was happy with the end result. If you want to see what it looks like a few years after install, check ebay. The car is on it, alpine/tan MT2 cabrio.

I would have done the same kit on my current cabrio but Indigo Blue is impossible to color match so I bought my own hides and took it in a pro to stitch.

Hey guys, I used a company called 9Stitch for my wife's vert. You can look them up on the R3V facebook page .... it took them a couple of weeks to produce what looks to be a great product. I would of used Creative Options but it seems like their lead times are crazy long ... and I know several folks who waited months for their kits (I also have heard their kits are high quality too).

The guy who owns 9stitch is on here as "EThirtyIS" ...
