removing carpet today..

planning on spraying the inside and checking for rust..

anything i should look out for ?

yes so i removed teh rear seat and carpet.. low and behold both rear floor pans are rusted out (where the plug is)
i cut it out and welded new stock in there
pics tonight ..

i added seam sealer after the welding and paint with rust protection primer then added a rubberized under coating..

i also went ahead and removed carpet all the way to the firewall and its clean with no rust (luckily)

So wait, you patched OVER the rusted out spots? Be prepared fro more rust later. You need to cut it out to stop it. That's why its nickname is cancer.

Also, isn't there just a plug of metal that fills that hole?
