    Trunk Tar Removal

I must say it was heavvvvy, but after taking it all off i could say it got about 60 lbs lighter, me and my friend did it to our cars and it work out great. There are two layers the top one peels off semi-easy and the bottom layer is the b****, i just park it under the sun with my trunk open and we took it off. You will be amazed how heavy it is if u do this.

the trunk isn't the only place, its ALL throughout the interior, the tar on the inteiror is not as thick but it would all still probably add up to 20lbs most probably. just a suggestion.

go to your trunk left the carpet up and you will see it all over and around the spare tire, take the carpet out and start peeling it off, if you want to make it easy on ur self park it under the sun and let it warm up a bit before you tackle it

hows the sound after removal? any more rattles or much more road noise? i'll probably do it to my when i start installing stereo stuff. and if it gets too bad i can always add dynamat.

so how much louder is it? I think my car is already pretty loud. On the highway the stereo usually ends up getting drowned out altogether. I think its mostly wind noise, so this wouldnt really make any difference would it?

u won't even notice the sound difference. Although i've read that it was for sound deadening as well as weight balance, i don't think it has much to do with sound deadening, especially counting that the 318 didn't have it. I weighed mine when I removed it all, I had it at ~53lbs.

so basically 50lbs and if you have an exhaust the sound isn't that much louder. barely notice it. i haven't really noticed any traction difference with it out. some corners in the rain the back kicked out. haven't tried it with the new suspension though.

Im worried about upsetting up the cars weight balance which is already a bit nose heavy....perhaps combined with A/C removal or say aluminum control arms it would produce a more desirable effect.
