    help with convertible

i have a manual top and on two bars on the inside this material looks to have come undone . can anyone tell me whats supposed to be going on here from the factory so i can get it repaired properly? it bothers the shit outta me and looks plain ugly like this. I wonder if thats the reason i have to manually pull the front bar back when i fold the soft top.. anyway any help would be fantastic. thanks fellas

those straps just wrap around the bar and then glued in place.

If I can remember correctly when removing my old softtop, both straps were wrapped around that bar and glued together. Allowing rotational movement but still connected tightly to the bar.

about halfway down the post. Looks like you glue the straps to the bar.

The reason you have to manually flip that bar is because your tension straps have lost their elasticity. e30ic.com has a write up on how to fix it with elastic velcro.
