Where is this part supposed to go?

Forgive my stupidity, but where is this part supposed to go? Based on how it looks I was thinking somewhere around the brake and clutch pedals but not sure. There's an electrical connection on the back of the hard plastic piece.

It goes under the dash. The slots go over the pedals. The connection is the door chime that makes sound when the door is open.

It's held on by several plastic clips.
