For those who have redone their interior how much material is needed

Like the title says...." For those who have actually done it" how much material is needed to redo the centers of the seats and the door panels ? I'm planning this couple of weeks to redo the seat centers and the panels so I need an idea of how much actual material is needed. I searched around, but I need someone who actually had it done or did it themselves to chime in.

Depends entirely on the material and how good you are at playing Tetris.... Hahaha, but seriously brush up on your Tetris.
For non paterened material, vinyl or leather your looking at around 3-4 yards for vert/M3, 4-5 for a coupe if your going to stick to the stock pattern for the rear bench seat.
A patterned material like houndstooth or plaid or dare I even say, EVO cloth.... You'll need around 5-6 yards, but it depends on the pattern.

Hey-thanks for the reply. I'm actually doing mtec cloth I just recently got from overseas. I received 10 ft long by the the standard width and was not sure if it would be enough.

It won't be enough, if you do it correctly. By that I mean having the pattern on the correct angle.

Because of the angle it installs on, and the angle it's made on, are different, there is a fair amount of waste when doing m tech cloth.
          You need 5 yards minimum.

Yeah- by doing some quick mock ups of the layout, I realized the pattern must be at angle and was hoping for a miracle that it was enough. I guess it should be enough for the seats and maybe the headrest ? But I'm not sure if Mtec looks good with the headrest done also. All the pictures I find are with Blk headrest.

I will order another two yards so I can do the doors.

Glad you did the math first. I sold a guy 4.5 yards (52.5" x 177") of silver mtech fabric, and it was barely enough to do his e30 m3.

Yeah it looks like a lot when you first get it but once you start doing a layout you realize it's not enough . Click image for larger version
