This in not a full write up on how to do this retrofit there are already a few great write ups on that I have left the link to one of them here;
This is if you have the white base switches with the brown, red, black, & green wires.
These switches are the sunroof switches out of a 2 door e36 and are pretty easy to pick up at a parts yard.
All the write ups I have found with the white switches did not have the same color wires then mine its not too much different I don't think but hey if this helps someone then cool!
This is the white base switch

Disconnect battery & pull the original switches

Cut & splice your wires

Time to connect the switches
Im pretty sure most e30's have the same color window switch wires if your match mine it will be as so;
E30
Brown - Ground
Brown - Ground
Green - Positive
Black - Down
Purple - Up
And the white base switch we are installing today is as follows;
E36 Switch
Brown - Ground
Red - Positive
Black - Down
Green - Up
Twist them together connect battery and test

If everything works solder them up and wrap them!

When your finished with the filing and what not which you can find about in the link above you should have a nice working clean looking set of switches!
