    E36 Window Switch Retrofit (White Base Wiring)

    This in not a full write up on how to do this retrofit there are already a few great write ups on that I have left the link to one of them here;

    This is if you have the white base switches with the brown, red, black, & green wires.

    These switches are the sunroof switches out of a 2 door e36 and are pretty easy to pick up at a parts yard.
    All the write ups I have found with the white switches did not have the same color wires then mine its not too much different I don't think but hey if this helps someone then cool!

    This is the white base switch

    Disconnect battery & pull the original switches

    Cut & splice your wires

    Time to connect the switches

    Im pretty sure most e30's have the same color window switch wires if your match mine it will be as so;

    E30

    Brown - Ground
    Brown - Ground
    Green - Positive
    Black - Down
    Purple - Up

    And the white base switch we are installing today is as follows;

    E36 Switch

    Brown - Ground
    Red - Positive
    Black - Down
    Green - Up

    Twist them together connect battery and test

    If everything works solder them up and wrap them!

    When your finished with the filing and what not which you can find about in the link above you should have a nice working clean looking set of switches!

    Looking good! still have to fit them little better but feels way better!

      Nice! I already had the switches from a pick A part but I needed to look up the wiring. :)

      Thank you!
