325i Late model air bag steering wheel removal

Hey guys, I know removing the old airbagless steering wheel is pretty simple. Does the airbag steering wheel have the same procedure? just pop the emblem and loosen the nut? Any tips on disconnecting the airbag?

From what I remember there's a few torx behind the steering wheel holding the air bag in place that need to be removed. Also don't forget to disconnect the battery just in case

behind the actual airbag wheel (3 and 9 oclock) there are two little holes on the sides.
There are two torx style bolts that hold the airbag in place. loosen the two of them.
Once the bag is loose, there is a little orange plug at the back of the bag. twist it counter clockwise and your bag is off.

Use a 22mm socket with an extension and loosen the nut (pull the key out of the ignition to lock the wheel in place to make it easier to remove).
Once the nut is off, put the key back in, and turn it to the 2nd position. Under the steering column, there is a little rectangular panel. Behind that panel there is an orange connector. Disconnect this. The wheel will be able to be removed now. Make sure to mark the post and the wheel so you know where it goes when you put it back.

      Hope this helps.
