I have an 87is. It has the overhead check engine indicators and an electric moonroof. I guess I can tap power off of one of these two systems. Anybody already done this?

It's pretty easy. I did it when I converted to a power sunroof. I used the factory wire that runs down the A pillar to under the dash. I was running power for the sunroof anyway so it just made sense. I shouldn't be a problem to power it up off the hot lead to the sunroof. -
Nope. Not possible. Don't even try it, your car might explode.
I will help you out though...you can send me that mirror.
Seriously...run the wires over to your domelight and connect there.

That's what I did, wired to the constant on the pass dome and voila. It is alot easier when you have the headliner out BTW.:nice:Originally posted by 325Projectzdon't listen to the diagram... listen to mr. swiss.Comment

In my old E30 I spliced the maplight in to switched power from the check panel. Worked just fine.Comment

If you want to be able to use them whent he car is off, you can wire them up to the constant power at the check panel instead of the switched power. There's really no need to run a wire all the way to the dome light.

ANyone have any experience playing with the switch to make them switchable on/off as well as on with the domes when the doors open? I am going to do it, just curious if ayone has yet, save me some work and brain calories :)sigpicComment
