    Interior LED project

OK, so I noticed the other night that in dad's Boxster, there are amber LED's in various places, the door handles, near the release for the top, etc. I have heard the new BMW's may have this feature as well. "Ambience Lighting" or some catchy marketing name. Before I start, I wanted to see if anybody else had done this and what their results were...

    Thanks!!

A guy on mye28 has an E28 kit with two amber LEDs that fit into the sunroof motor cover. Looks cool. I wouldnt mind having a few under each side of the dash to light up the flootwells with some dim light.

yeah, I really liked it in the boxster...added just enough light to see if you dropped something in the floorboards, etc

          These would make mounting easy:

Welcome to RadioShack's official website. Search and shop for electronics, gaming devices, powerbanks, audio products and business traveling gear.

The only thing you would have to deal with is stepping down the voltage as LED's are generally a little over 2 volts, not 12.

Have you guys seen the interior on the new Benz CL550? There is an amber LED strip running across the bottom of the dash... very sexy!

I did it on my e30

I have 1 led right by my sunroof switch shining lightly on my center console. I love the ambiance.

I spent a lot of money to get a mint one and the first time out with it in my size 14 feet hit and cracked one of the pieces inbetween the pedals. So its been collecting dust for a while now.

Glad im not the only one.

Theres a simple formula to determine the size Resistor you have, combined with the voltage capacity of the LED..
