Think you have to make an adapter for the seat frame, no biggy
I did some reading (and correct me if I'm wrong) you can use the recaro aftermarket seat adaptors to fit these in an e30?

I sized up the bottom frame to some e30 seats. Looks to me like the holes are in the right spots. Only issue is that the rail closest to the door is lower than the one by the shifter, as the E21 has a ledge there. Here is more info:

Seems to me someone would just need to make something roughly 1" high to run under that rail.

Well, in terms of price, the reverse order is best. If you're handy, redoing them yourself is the cheapest (as they are labor intesive). Having someone else redo them is never cheap due to time alone, not to mention cost of seats and cost of material. Of course, there are some fixed costs to get your first seat done (machine, thread, foam, padding, hog rings/pliers, etc).

i used e21 brackets, BUT i used the handle side brackets only, so you have to hold both handles to move the seat.

i have different brackets in the works.

you lose a lot of accesibility to your back seat just to let you know. e21 seats don't slide forward when you pull up the handle to tilt the seat forward. the bolsters are also much larger in comparison to e30 seats, so you can't pull the seat as far forward because it hits the console.

How bout this. We made this a while ago from my friend's euro 325is, with grey cloth interior. He bought racing seats, and had no use for the recaro's. Yes its shotty, and i dont think it is like this anymore.

                              Bringing this back as well.

Is it true that I could get away with just a 1" spacer on one side?
