convertible seats?

i dont know if this has been asked yet....but will just the bottom part of the rear seats from a convertible fit in a coupe....and also will e21 front and rear seats match up???

Nope, the rear seat of the cab is not as wide as the cabrio and M3, top and bottom. You can take good covers off a coupe and modify them to fit the cab, but thats about it.

The E21 front seat has rails that are higher on one side than the other, so you need to change out the sliders. Some folks take the shorter slider off each side (from a pair of seats) to make one set, then hunt for another. Not sure about the E21 rear.

thanks for help on both my post your on the ball man!....i was thinking about the e21 because i know someone with junk seats and there is a perfect set of e21 ones at the junk yard for $20 front and back....ill try switching the sliders like you said.
my other friend has some off brand sport seats that are "universal" how does that work....are the holes just bored out wider? if so looks like more slider switching...is that what people do on here??? because ive seen a few with nice looking after market seats.
