Fixing my Sun Roof Crank - Pictures - Links - Thanks in Advance!

So my manual sunroof. It works great, it tilts, slides easily open and close. However the crank falls off. My question is what numbers do I need to order to get this fixed. I was told by a local e30'er that I just need number 7.

    Here are pictures:

Part Numbers:(What do I need to buy to make it stay up there and look nice :)

      6?

6 appears to already be installed.

If not where does it go? It appears there would be 2 number sixes.

I have the same problem, used a paperclip to fix it, been hodling strong for about 2 years now

Guess I need to drop it and inspect.

Did you just wrap the paper clip around the stub?

Order one from the dealer and slide it right on.

                    OEM aftermarket sucks :)

Paperclip sits in a U-Shape around the stub, keeps it from falling out. It was kind of a bitch to get in there, james crivellone helped with it years ago. Its worked fine for three years now though.

                      I'll take some pics later.

Just an update I sold the car. Buy a new crank from dealer and be done with it :)

Both aftermarket OEM replacements didn't work.

I bought one from FAP99. It wont fit, so I'm guessing it might be aftermarket. Did the aftermarket ones you have not fit over the tranmission axle?

                            Yup

And no amount of shaving or adjusting will make it fit.

                            Dealer.
