    Interior finally done!

I purchased my car a few years ago with 52k miles on it. The interior was excellent though the leather was very hard. Last Fall, I slathered Lexol on it trying to soften it up a bit.

Within a week, the rear seat split at the top. Bummer. Every time I drove the car, I found myself looking at that darned split.

So I bought the entire leather kit from World Upholstery but wasn't happy with the results when I began to install it myself.

I also purchased the factory heated seat retrofit kit from the dealer since my car came from the south and didn't have that option on it. This kit would have been a lot easier to install if I could read German! The directions were terrible.

So after three months at the upholstery shop, here it is.

So you say stay away from World Upholstery? What was the bill from the shop?

It looks great! Bet it feels even better than it looks.

            Guys,

            Thanks for the kind words.

I'm a computer idiot so this was my first posted pic.

Here's the link to World Upholstery.

I can elaborate about my experiences with them if you'd like to know. Both very good service and not so good product expectations.

The feel of the leather is so supple - what a difference from fourteen year old leather!

The car is a '93 and the color is mauritiusblau-metallic. I haven't seen another e30 painted that color yet.

The cost of the leather kit was about $1500.00.

The shop bill for the interior, delivered to them, was $1081.00 and believe me, they earned it. I wasn't prepared for the three month turn around time but at least it was during the winter so the car was put away anyway.

The heated seat kit was purchased from Paul Miller BMW along with a wind deflector because at the time, they were offering a 25% discount. The price for the heated seat kit was about $400.00.

Did you ask them why it took 3 months and why they charged you soo much labor, it should have took one guy 1 day to complete that install. Really only 6 hours if was good.
              BTW, love that color blue..........

That's really clean, congrats on your new hide!

I just realized that we got it pretty good over here in our little third-world country I like to call home. I got a full custom leather/suede interior done for my touring for a grand total of $850, including shift and brake boots. They had it done in one day, too. I must admit that your interior still looks a BIT better, detail-wise :) Quick shot for comparo:

Steering wheel's been swapped for an mtech 2 since.
