Seats are pissing me off...HELP!

Hey guys,
So I purchased some m3 seats a long time ago and I am put them in today. I am 6'1, so I need the seat to go back as far as possible.

So the lever handle that you pull up to get into the seats are different, on the outside, closes to the door. The M3's seats handles hit the rear 1/4 interior panels

One, m3 seats, looks like an actually handle with finger slots
The verts seats have the 1 finger handle

The vert seats little handle pulls off easy with a little tug, it comes off. So why won't the m3's pull off that easy? I have tried by myself, I have tried with holding on with a wrench and it won't come off.

Do I have to do something else other than pull on the m3 seats?

Yes, they are opposite seats but each pic shows the outside handle.

Since the verts have a narrower back section, they have smaller handles. All other e30's have the longer handles. They should just pull of, but might be stuck.

i had to pry mine off with a flat head screw-driver, just be careful to not scratch the black part on the seat back

well, I took the seat apart and finally got the little handle off the M3 seat with the screw driver, thanks Nomad.

Now I see that the handle is as long as the plastic piece that went over it. It is rivoted on also. So I am going to have to drill the rivot out of both seats and rivot them on the new ones...geez this is proving to be sucky!

why dont you just cut it and get vert covers?

Well I am planning to get new leather eventually but don't have the money. I spend $400 shipped on these and I was told to recover my seats was going to be around $800. So I got these until I can recover my original seats
