    Yet another Sport Seat question.

I'm changing my interior from Blue to Black, and the last thing left to do was the front seats. Mine weren't worth repairing and re-dyeing, so I bought a pair of Black Sport Seats that came from a 87 Cabby.

The seller said they are Leather, but they look more like Naugahyde or some kind of imitation leather.

They are not vinyl, and they look just like my leather sport seats with the Horizontal stitching.

Did BMW make a faux leather sport seat, much like MBZ did with the 190E and the MB Tex seats?

Either way, my Lachssilber Cabby looks really sweet with the all Black (Except the carpet, but I have black mats) interior, so I'm happy with the seats regardless as I got them for $200.00

    Thanks.

Oh, one more thing. The seat heaters don't work on the passenger side, so I need to swap mine out from my other seats. Is this easy or hard to do?

    Thanks again.

Yeah, it's possible they were redone in Naugahyde or similar.
If so, not a problem as Naugahyde is durable and won't dry out or crack like leather, even though I do prefer leather.

But I can't tell if it's real leather of faux leather, so I don't think anyone else can, but they look nice in my car and the price was right and I'm happy to be rid of my blue interior.

Turn one upside down - you should be able to see if the backing is leather, or vinyl since split leather looks one way, and vinyl usually has that interlocking thread backer.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

Can any one give me tips on swapping the seat heater elements?

            Thanks.

experiment with one of your old seats and figure out how it comes out properly, should help with everything.
