I've used a 350mm steering wheel and while I liked it, I thought it was a little small. 320mm is really small, your going to get a workout in parking lots, assuming its a street car.

320mm is way too small. 350+ is the way to go.

350 is a good aftermarket size, 330 is stretching it.

320 and you will have to look around your steering wheel to see the top of your speedo and tach

            on factory steering wheels:
            4-spoke steering wheel is 380mm
            sport 3-spoke is 385mm
            m-technik I is 370mm/385mm
            m-technik II is 370mm

just to help you put steering wheels into perspective.

Thanks guys! Just ordered a momo hub and monte carlo wheel from ltb. I bid on a 320mm, going to see if they'll let me take the 350mm model instead.

For some reason I thought stock was 350-360.

Yeah, definitely too small. I had a 330mm in my car and the top of the wheel cut off my line of sight with the instrument cluster.

I am 90% sure that the stock wheel is 385mm. I just bought a 370 for my car so I hope I didnt go too big.

I run 280mm Sparco with my track car...I love it, and most people that have driven my car do as well. But I do run an E36 M3 steering rack, and it does block the gauge cluster a bit.

Damn, I am not sure if I want 330 or 350 now! The issue of 330 blocking the cluster sucks, but wouldn't that also depend a little on your height/seat position ? The stock wheel just feels too big, but also thin, but will 350mm over stock wheel make a big enough difference ?

Since I will be changing the rack to e36 m3 rack, would I be better off with 330 I wonder...

I loved my 380mm sparco with no P/S and a Z3 rack. I hated the suede though so I'm going to try out a 350mm Prototipo.

The height/seat position will not help, enough, anyways.

In order to see the cluster where the steering wheel blocks, you would have to lower the seat's height all the way, and in some cases, slouch down a little into the seat to see the top of the tach/speedo. Doing this would prevent most effective seating positions that would allow you to see the road enough. And you can't set the seat higher in an effort to see the top of the tach/speedo, because the steering wheel would then just block a lower set of tach/speedo. Either way, you'd have to look "around" the steering wheel.

I'm not sure exactly what size my steering wheel is, but it's pretty tiny. The wheel blocks my vision of the middle of the gauges, so I can see part of the gauges above and below my wheel.
Sure, I can't see my gauges, but I think it's worth it. Driving an e30 with a stock steering wheel makes me feel like I'm driving a bus.

Along with my small wheel, I also have a '95 M3 steering rack, and I have no problems turning the wheels in parking lots. Maybe you need to go to the gym more often...
