    Front door skins - Feeler

We had some new door skins laser cut for us. The doors were measured with a CMM, imported into CAD then laser cut for a perfect fit.
We also had them accommodate our manual crank windows.

Is there any interest in more of these being made?
I'm not sure what pricing would be yet, but ballpark I'd imagine somewhere in the neighborhood of $300 for the pair.

Weight savings? How much does door panel weight, how much does this?

      Can't say I've weighed either.
The stock door panels intruded on our cage and wouldn't fit.

No offense, I'm sure your product is great, but $300 for a sheet of aluminum cut into shape? Why? It can't cost that much to make them. Maybe I am missing something...

Aluminum sheet alone runs around $70-80, plus the time on the laser cutting machine, plus the time involved in having a door completely CMM'd so the fitment is exacly perfect. Have you priced out what time on a CMM machine costs?

We're not here to make money on these items, only to see if people were interested in us making a few extras. We've had our parts made for our car which was the ultimate goal. If we can help someone else out with some then we just thought we'd ask.

Those looks awesome and would be perfect for my 89 but I would never spend that kind of money, sorry.

              wow!

the stock panels are pretty darn light.... if I cut anything I use a chipboard rather than aluminum which has to be heavier than the chip board.

Well, lets put it this way, I could one-off a set in a few hours by hand, reproduce my design in CAD which could then be used to cut them on a CNC laser or router/mill. The way you are doing it might be worth as much as you say, but there are much cheaper ways to do it. I mean, it's a door panel. Why do you need to CMM it?

Once again, you product looks great, but for that price, I don't think people will bite.
