Any chance an E39 steering wheel will fit an E30 that came equipped with an airbag?

Yes, on a pre-90 car. When I put an Mtech1 on my '90, it was ridiculously hard to "slide" it in. I basically pushed it in by bolting it down. When I parted out the car, the steering wheel would not come off. We broke the steering before we got the wheel out.Erick Mahle | FullOpp Drift | YouTube

I have a mtech 1 wheel on my 91 and have taken if off and put it back on without any issues numerous times. It slides on and off perfectly fine. They only thing i had to do was add some washers on the shaft before i put on the nut.
