Ok...snap ring off of seat mechanism...

WTF do I do now? I'm going to attempt to tackle putting on new leather. Here's my issue.

I've gotten further than I ever have, removed the snap ring holding the seat mechanisms on - and the directions ( http://www.esatclear.ie/~bpurcell/318isseat.html & http://r3vlimited.com/Tech/sportseats.htm) just say to pull the mechanisms off - but...uhh, they're not coming off?

I'd really like not to break my seat...so some pointers here in a timely manner would be greeeaaatttt...

    Thanks.

luke just did this, when I saw it one guy was holding the seat and the other was prying and jiggling a large screwdriver under the mechanism. I have no idea what was going on, but it was two pieces a couple seconds later.

        taking the seat off

        The snap ring off...

you need to take a plier and pull the tilt mechanism up so you can push the back rest forward. the circle will slide towards the open area, and then it'll come off.

basically... tilt the mechanism so the back rest is tilted forward. Then just some light tap the mechanism will come off.
