    Speedometer

Sometimes lately the e30's speedometer will just not work and other times it will. Obviously like some other e30's my odometer doesnt work, but come on gimme a break atleast lemme know how fast im going. Can anyone help with this problem?

mine does the same. from what I've read it could be the sensor on the diff. Just unplug it and clean it up. Could also be the solder points on the back of the speedo need to be reflowed IIRC. Good luck.

i had that problem with my tach. It was a fried circuit panel. cooked the wire right off the board.

I had this problem.. Turns out the solder on the circut board for the speedo over time lets the connection on the board losen up. Believe it or not I resoldered the connections and now it works like a champ. If you ever need a write up on what I did I have one. I got the idea from another site on the net.

                Cheers.

+1 for what this guy is talking about. I performed the same exact procedure, of which alleviated my fluctuating speedo issues. Your odometer not working is 99 percent likely to be a broken gear(s). Good luck.

you can buy them individually if you only need the small one. i bought mine from bav auto for $25. It came in a box big enough to hold a melon.
