    steering wheel spacer ID?

what size (id) do the washers need to be for use as a spacer when you replace an airbag steering wheel with a non-airbag momo wheel?
swapping them out and i want to have everything there to make it a 1 shot deal.
    thanks,
    greg

I got off of two different non air bags cars the spacer behind the steering wheel once its been removed. You will have to put one on then the new wheel then the next spacer plus the flat washer and nut of course that came off.

You will also need to pull the white plastic pin with spring off of the column when you get the airbag steering wheel removed. Part # 11 in this link has to be pull out just yank with pliers. It will get in the way of a aftermarket wheel and not sure what is used for.http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...54&hg=32&fg=30

The part I am talking about is #4 at this link. You will need two of them, one on each side of the new steering wheel. Then your flatwasher and nut. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...47&hg=32&fg=30

I tired using washers but you have to make the center larger so they will go over the column and once the wheel was on it made a wierd noise due to the stack of washers moving around. Thats why I went with the above remedy and works like oem

No problem .... If you have any other questions/problems once you start installing just shoot me a PM !!

You will also need a 22mm socket to remove the nut so you can take the wheel off. Make sure the wheel is unlocked and it should just come right off, if not work it side to side and top and bottom and then it should then pull right off no problem.

yea, it shouldn't be a prob. i have to sneak down to work and get my tools to do it since i am on disabilty right now because of my burns (Dr won't clear me until i have NO open wounds and they are all healed up). going crazy with nothing to do so might as well do some stuff on the car that isn't heavy or greasy.
