Rear window switch - tricks to get back in?

I'm replacing all of the door cards right now, and I can't seem to get my rear window switches plugged back in. The spot it plugs to doesn't seem small/long enough to pull out, plug in, then push back in. When I try to align the switch and push it straight back, it doesn't connect.

Any tips or hints on how to get them back?

    It's a mission man.
    Easiest way to do it.

Take the door card off, and it is clipped to the door inside somewhere, cut the clip, grab a zip tie and move it so it gives you a bit more slack. That way you can pull it out all the way and plug it in, then all you have to do it push it back in with some force. It comes out, you just need to pop it out, it will most likely come unplugged when you pop the switch out.
