    New interior project

i am thingking of geting my interior done, but i had a few questions for the guys that do this or other know about or done it already

i was thinking of doing my tan recaro(stock) seats on leather, but the guy is charging me 1200 for everithing due to leather material, so I am thinking of buying the material and taking it to him to do the work. My questions are:

how much (approximate) leather do i need?
where should i buy it? suggestions?
what thickness or type should i look for? uncertain of this.

also and idea that i had was to do it with a houndstooth look. Headrest and middle of the seat. The pattern i liked and i think would match perfecly would be the burberry pattern. Does anyone know of a place i can bay 10 yards? is this how much i need?

insight and knowledge is appreciated and thanks in advance.:D

I don't think that will look good at all, many people dont like tan. but it is your car

I have black houndstooth door panels if you want to go black tho

they are around the same tones as the leather, and some of the black stripes match with the dash, consoles etc..

          Oh, he was serious.

Look up the s/n thereisnonion or something to that effect. His lady's e30 is sporting that style interior, and she stiched it herself. I wouldn't rock it, but to each their own.

what i am going for is the pleade, not the brand. Not trying to look ghetto fabolous as if a were to get Gucci or louis vuiton, just something more eye catching and classic.

            would these ones look better?

            any ideas
            thanks

What the hell, while your at it, could you do one in my Tartan too?

              My Tartan

              Your Choice

You had such a great idea, I never thought of using my Scottish Family Lineage to decorate the interior of my car, why stop there? Maybe I could get someone to paint it that way too...

I like the black burberry look stuff... the tan is too much for me. If I ever get sport seats, the plan was to re-do the centers in the black burberry, and get shift boots and ebrake boots made from it too.

hahah I'm not an thereisn"onion" its thereisnoyun. Yea... I'll take some more pics of her car and mine, she did both of them. I'm restoring a white cabrio, thats going to get a custom treatment. So stay tune for that as I'll have it done in a month.

Plaid is decent for seats, but it is one of the hardest thing to work with, because you absolutely ahve ot line it up perfectly, or else it just simply wont work. But even my gf thinks the door cards are too much.
