haha my passnger side works on low. The driver side is only high and only on my back...its like a damn fire pit
I think its probably the cores...I could be wrong sincer I really don't know the in's and outs of the heated seats but at 5 degree weather turn it on high and crack the window..feels GREAT
On mine the driver side gets blazing hot when on the high setting but doesn't do anything on low... my passenger side only works on the back and only on the high setting... i would really like to get them both functioning properly!
kind of an old thread but right up my alley. I just bought some redone heated seats. Problem is the same as OP, I have no heat on low and only back heat on high. Could this be a simple switch not working? or is it something else? Thanks.
I think it is just the nature of these seats. I retro-fitted the OEM heated seat parts into my car about 1.5 years ago using all brand new heating pads and wiring harness. I always use them on high - in Ohio you get a lot of use of the heated seats... anyway, they are very inconsistent in the heating temperature - sometimes they are blazing hot, then get cooler, then get hot again - no real pattern, and there is not "timer" in them to go through any sort of temperature phases. Both the back and bottom of the seats have heating pads in them so you should be getting the full effect unless something is broke.
Maybe the switches are bad, Did you guys ever think of that?
if the switches went bad it wouldnt just heat up the back and not the butt area. So if he is getting current to the back, then the switch must be good.
My was the same issue. I open it up when I reupholster everything, and found two breaks in the heat pads, one right in the neck where the connection goes into the pad and then one on the very top corner.
wow... maybe considering after market solutions isn't such a bad idea, considering the cost of going OEM I'd prefer to have all of my seat heated consistantly...
The heated seats in my dads MZ3 work like a charm, low is a gentle warmth on the bottom and back, and high is like sitting on coals.
This may not be of any help, but I bought e36m3 sport seats (not vaders) and the heaters work on both the back and ass. But I'm using e36 switches and a home built harness.
At least I think so... I've installed them, but I haven't driven the car with them and it's been a while.
