    Flocking?

anyone know anything about the process of flocking and the if it is durable finish compare to wrapping, say, vinyl or anything similar in texture?

My old flocking gun was stolen from me about 1990. I used it a few times.

Durable? Hah...no chance. What are you needing to cover?

oh nothing, just say some guy on uk forum flocking his dash, it looks minty. But I read up on the applications and how it was done, and I had the thought that it would be really weak in durability. It just seems like it wouldnt hold.

Absolutely right, although I have heard of clear coat over flocking, but I have no clue how that would work either.

          I ran across this:

Your best source for high quality & innovative woodworking tools, finishing supplies, hardware, lumber & know-how. Find everything you need to make your next project a success. Family-owned since 1954.

Might not be too good for a part as big as a dash, but would be nice for smaller stuff.
