My back window goes down fine. But when i want it to go up it does about half way then slows, sometimes stops, and then you have to help it up. Is this a motor issue or something else. Couldnt find any real good info for this problem. Thanks.

Might be a shitty switch. Swap a switch from another window, see what you get.
Likely is a motor crapping out though.

not a switch, checked that. It seems as though there could be something not lubed idk. what are the symptoms of a motor going bad?Last edited by aaron325ix; 02-17-2008, 06:10 PM.sigpicComment

In my experience I have found that by the time a motor takes a shit, the regulator is close behind. Considering how much hassle it is to swap either, I just do both and be done.

Anyone have any more info on this symptom, or perhaps a write up on how to access the motor and regulator for inspection/replacement? ThankssigpicComment

Did you ever get this figured out? My windows are the slowest things on the planet. My switches are always fowling up, so I was hoping that's all it was...-Brandon

Slow-moving windows are often caused by the old grease hardening over the past 20 years. Remove the door panels, clean up the old grease and start over.Comment

Brandon, early cars have a shitty regulator design.
When they wear, they bind, making it look like a bad motor.
