    Lighting up a shift knob?

I spent about 20 minutes searching for a thread about this, the closest thing I could find was a link to a website that apparently doesn't exist anymore.

So, How do I light up my shift map on a ///M non light up shift knob? Can it be done (I'm pretty sure it can)? and how would I go about "plugging it in"?

I saw a write up a while back where some one did it to a regular shifter. You have to splice into the sig lighter wiring.

i unhooked the bulb in the ashtray and used that. that particular bulb dims with the dash light knob also. so you can change the brinhtness of the shiftknob at the same time.

It should be really simple. put a light under the emblem and make sure it can shine through, then run a wire someplace with power. Id yank power from one of the lights in the center console. That way it comes on when your lights go on.

I could be a really good ricer if I wanted to be.

        Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!

for running the wires, could I just run them through the center of the shifter until I reach the boot, and then underneath there so that it is completely stealth?
