    Seat rails question?

Hey I am in need of some new seats for my E30 as the seats in it are severly riped and uncomfortable. They are recaros and look similar to the ones found in a mk3 GTI.

I was wondering how I could tell whether my car still has the original seat brackets/mounts or has some aftermarket ones? this would help to see which seats I can mount onto them.

    Thanks Luke

Do you mean the sliders on the floor? I can take pictures of those later today!

I'd also really appreciate these pictures, or some measurements if someone is feeling generous - I need to fab up some seat brackets and don't want to wait another 2 months until the car's out of storage.

            I'm here with measurements.
The length centre-to-centre between the two boltholes is 12-1/4".
The square 'feet' at each end are 1-13/16", with the raised lip about 1/8" wide coming up 1/8"
The round 'pegs' in the centre of the feet have a 13/16"-27/32" OD and a 7/16"-15/32" ID. The round part is about 3/16" tall.

Thank you SO much! That is perfect. How difficult would you say it is to remove the factory sliders from there, if it's even possible? Wondering if I can adapt them somehow or if I should still go fully custom.

it is really easy to remove the oem sliders its basically two clips u push straight threw the top rail and two 17 mm bolts to take off the back part of the rail i would say its a 1/10 on difficulty

they are fairly easy to adapt into custom sliders i would say give it a shot and if u cant figure out something then resolve to fully custom

Getting the sliders off the rails, I'll have to look at. At first sight, it appears that you'll have to do some fairly nasty stuff to the rails to get them separated.
Getting the rail/slider group off the seat isn't too bad, as S50fanatic has said.
