    M-Tech I Steering Wheel

I have installed my steering wheel and when I turn the steering wheel I feel it hitting something, I can also hear something being hit. My car is a 1990 so it came with an airbag steering wheel. Is there something that I forgot to do?

I believe you need to add a couple of washers behind the wheel to space it away from the dash a little. Search and you should find your answer.

please dont put any more spacers... the thing that is hitting is a white piece on the top left hand corner for airbag steering wheel. you can yank it out with a plier and take out the springs. If you look you will know what I'm talking about.

Even after I removed that white locking post I had to add some washers to get the wheel to fit right. And my knuckles still touch the windshield wiper stalk if I'm not careful.

Be careful, if your wheel is to close, it will make those 300+ turns in a few short miles very hard.

That is normal. Some people leave it that way and some bend the stalks to be a bit further away.
