We've all thought about doing this, I finally got off my lazy ass (ok actually I was sitting on my ass) and ordered an oil pressure gauge. Not hard to guess where I wanted to put it, I got an autometer sport comp, the needle can't be put in the same place as the OE economy meter, though I could fit a gear setup, but I'd be worried about the accuracy of the gauge doing that. I will order a handfull more and hopefully find one that has the needle offset enough to make it work pretty well and use a custom face for oil pressure where the economy meter goes.

This works perfectly fine, but I want the sweep of the needle to use the same area that the economy meter did It was surprisingly simple to fit this in there and I'm convinced anyone with a few basic tools and a drillbit could do this. Ultimate goal is to produce a set of printable templates for the brackets to install the gauge and make a DIY. Don't mind the eta cluster, it was $10 and served it's purpose. :)
