heated seat element replace

I just got some seats on ebay recently recovered and the butt part of the ds seat doesnt work. I called a shop to see how much they would charge to replace the element and they said like $200! That seems high to me, any one else?
How bad would it be if I wanted to do it myself? I've heard it can be a bitch with the hog ringers and all, so I dont know if I want to tackle that job. Any ideas? Thanks.

I don't know much about upholstry and I'm not sure how the original element is mounted, but there are some universal seat heaters for about $90 that will probably work better than the originals too.
