    Dash Cover

What is the deal with these dash covers offered by BMP? Anyone have a picture handy. I'm asking because i went and looked at a 318is last night for a friend and it had 3 big cracks in the dash. A brand new dash costs around $300 right and is very hard to install. Other than the cracked dash and a ripped driver's seat the car was real nice. Here is the link, let me know if any of you have a picture.

I have heard that these actually fit very well and don't look too bad.

They may look alright, but the dash will still make creeking noises in the winter.

I have one in my car, i'll try to get some pics tonight. As long as you do some minor sanding around the edges they look quite nice. My only gripe is that the center console doesn't get covered so you can tell it's a cover. A serious adhesive is deffinately useful too.

Because they get cold, and creak when they flex.

My friend could really use a picture ASAP. Keep me posted.

Also how much work is involved to replace the whole dash with a brand new one?

Never actually done it, but I need to. From what I hear, about a day of work. I would think the hardest part would be keeping all of the plugs for instruments straight. Probably much more time consuming than actually difficult.

i dont think the picture of it on bmp does it justice.

I replaced my dash about a month ago (should have taken pics, oh well). It's really not that hard, no where near what I was thinking it was going to be. And there's not that many wires to keep track of, most of the wires you see up under the dash stay and you don't need to mess with. Just keep everything organized and you should be fine. Also, while I had the dash apart I replaced my speedometer gears.
