Seat belt conversion (coupe to sedan)...

I have been trying to get rid of the slightly worn belts from my early model sedan and put some belts from a late model coupe in their place. I was wondering if anyone's done this. It seems to swap in pretty directly, with the exception of the metal sliding piece that the belt loops itself onto. This piece (below) seems to only be on coupes. Has anyone found a way to use it on sedans? I'd rather do this than buy a new set of front (passenger and driver) belts from the dealer.

You and Trevor should have come out to Mitch's the other day, we could have figured it out.

Yeah I know. Well, I've got some plans for the car this weekend and through next week. If you know anyone in the market for a sub-160,000 mile eta motor, let me know.

I'll have to shoot Mitch a PM about that seat belt bracket deal.

        Hey now.

I have a roll bar in my 2 door. Which doesnt allow room for the sliding bottom bracket of the seatbelts. Instead, I removed the entire assembly and put in 4 door front belts that the bottom attaches to the seat instead of that bar. Problem solved.

I think I actually have another set of late model 4 door belts in a box in my garage.

Hey man, when you get a chance, shoot me a picture of what yours looks like. I'm using a set of Recaro Specialists (driver and passenger), so I may be able to use a similar setup.

If that doesn't work, let me know if you'd be willing to sell the front belts.

The motor in my new car is toast.. But I've got a rebuilt "i" motor I will put in for now.

What are you doing to yours? Heard your seats are pretty nice by the way.

Ah, I appreciate it man. I'm getting them cleaned post-drivetrain swap.

I'll be having a trusted mechanic friend swap in a Schrick (272/282) cam'd i motor, G260, 3.73 LSD, new H&R Sports/Bilstein Sports, and a Magnaflow 14815. It'll be quite an overhaul considering the car's current state, but I'm looking forward to the new suspension.

Want some Euro high compression (9.7:1 iirc) pistons while you are having the motor worked on? A friend in Myrtle Beach has them, and I'm going to have them shipped here later in the week.

I was going to throw those pistons in my motor with a 272/284 cam, but I really just need to build a 2.7 and get my 731 head ready for that.

Eh, I appreciate the offer. But I am dumping much too much into it as it is. Let me know if you need some eta bits on the cheap.

What kind of price tag do you have on the long block?
