Ca someone post the part number the brake-light deleted shelf please. I assume since it has holes for the sea belt recepticle, it's just a straight drop in, correct?

No 3rd brake light in 84-85 cars or E30 M3.

86 was the first year. It was required for 86 and later cars iirc.

I used e30 m3 shelf...since my car didn't have any wiring for 3rd brake light. Original early e30 318 cars also didn't have the 3rd brake light but they were FLAT and ugly.

Thats because 1986 was the first year for new cars to come with a 3rd brake light as set by the DOT. And i think it was 1994 for trucks.

I just took it off and put a spare tweeter pod cover over it, ghetto but it looks ok. :)

yeah...thats the one I have and I would like to delete the 3rd brake light.
let me know how much you would want for it. I have a dark gray carpet going into the car, and I will be installing a dark headliner, so I would like it to match.

going to the wrecker's tomorrow to see what I can find in the meanwhile. back in my MKII VW days, i installed an '86 Canadian model rear window without a 3rd brakelight and it looked so....clean.

oh, the things we spend our time contemplating..LOL

I just checked the rear self out of my 85 and it had the holes for the seat belts in it. But i think they sit a different way in it then the 86 and up cars with the 3rd light?

EDIT: nevermind, i see what they was talking about the belts and the pillers.
