Late-model knee bolster on early model...

I've already searched for some idea of what modifications will need to be done, but I haven't found anything. Just from holding the knee bolster to the dash/steering column area, it looks like I may have to cut the knee bolster itself (which I'd rather not do.) Has anyone done this? Can they provide pictures of what they did?

    Much appreciated.

I have one on mine. I cut the hole by the hood handle a bit larger. It's not visible from the seat. I also pulled some of the insulation out from around the steering column.

To be honest, I like the early style better and will probably just order a brand new one the next time I order parts. I don't like how the material doesn't match the rest of the dash.

Ah, thanks for the pictures. I've heard some people thinks it bulges out quite a bit more than the early-model. As far as it matching (in color), I had this late model knee bolster redyed, so the color is close, but it really does bulge more than I'd like. I'll probably just end up selling that knee bolster and buy an early one from the dealer.
