    Stealth v1 radar detector installs?

    I just got a v1 today, finally. for y'all who don't know, v1 is one of the bes tif not the best radar detectors out there, I've been wanting one for soo long.

    I got the hidden display with it, also. I was thinking of getting the hidden display in the rear view mirror with two way glass (a local guy did it in his e46).

    I am curious as to some suggestions to mount the actual radar detector. it has to be hidden, yet still must have a clear reading out of the front and back. the higher the better, but if I could have a stealth mounting (slightly raised up or something) on the rear shelf that would work too

      Are your windows tinted? If you have it above your rear shelf with tint i doubt a cop will notice it.

          I'd hide it behind the check panel, if you could find a way to hide something that big up there :) I thought about mounting my concealed display there.

              my windows are only tinted 50%. I don't want to go darker either, as the university I attend is in amherst, a suburb of buffalo, where the cops are real anal about anything, especially tint.

              I looked around the check panel, but I don't think I have enough room. I have the crank sunroof, so I've got a bigass crank right there. I don't think I really want to do the power sunroof conversion either, as the crank is always reliabile, plus I hope to put a cf sunroof in there at some point.

                  im not sure if this will work with the V1, but i did this with my generic crap radar....

                  wired it to the check control and "hid" it behind the rear view mirror, you can barely see it unless you know it's there. here's a pic....

                      nah I need an actual stealth install. i live right by canada, so i go there every so often. radar detectors are illegal in canada, so I need something hidden.

                          Don't even bother using them up here. Guys are getting busted with V1's and 8500's, OPP seems to have some incredibly powerful sensors for them.

                          My V1 sits in the box collecting dust until I head down south again.
