    Tan with black carpet?

My 89 325i project car needs carpet, I can go get a clean black/grey carpet out of another 325 or keep looking for tan.

I don't plan on switching door covers to black or anything like that, seats are my corbeau trs seats.

Looking for a picture of tan interior / dark carpet, thanks!

I have seen the other way around and it looked pretty nice. I couldnt imagine they grey looking horrible, esp considering if you run the OEM mats there isnt much of the carpet you see anyways.

not a great picture, but this is what my door cards will look like:

I also have a tan interior, but now I installed a black headliner, and will install a dark grey carpet. The door cards are what I will be using to try and make it look like it was supposed to be that way. ;)

Arm rest/door handle pair at junkyard: $15.
SEM black trim paint on the door pockets.

Julian, it would be the opposite though. Seats are black, rest is tan, minus the carpet.

I think I'll give it a shot tomorrow.

Wow that looks good! Guess I should start looking for the armrest on my next visit to the yard. Does anyone know if all armrest are interchangeable? Looking to fit it in my vert.

Rodrigo, any int. pic? Also you use sem ext. trim paint for the door pocket? You sand it first? Thanks!

I hate pulling carpet, I would rather do a dash install than carpet... I need to figure out how to get the accel. pedal out of the way w/o braking it.

try prying it up at the base with a 2" spackle knife. I was using that and a screwdriver and worked it off....tugged on it like hell! You also have to remove the circlip from the throttle linkage the pedal slides on.

regarding the amr rests, yes, I beleiv ethey are indeed all the same.
the inteiror paint is just SEM trim Black. Wash with simple green, dry, spray warm, and spray again within 30 min of first coat. Each coat should be very light...I coated mine 6 or 7 times...inside and out. seems scratch proof now, but we'll see how they hold up.

Or you could just buy the tan carpet that is sitting in my garage...it is actually in pretty good shape, no tears, holes or burns. Needs to be washed thoroughly as it got a little dirty when I was stripping the car, but nothing permanent.

If I were you, I'd keep it original and matching. Get some black floor mats for contrast. Only go to a different color carpet if you plan on changing out the door cards and seats to match. Just my opinion.

Well, It doesn't matter to me since it's not a show car. It just needs carpet per the rule book, otherwise I wouldn't even bother.

Thanks for the tip, I managed to get the pedal up and put the carpet in. Put the black speaker covers as well.

Unless it's complete as in uncut under the a/c, heater box and cheap I'll stick with the carpet I just installed ;)

its complete. I stripped the car clean so there was no need to cut under the heater core.
