I'm going to use a turkey carver to shave it down, but I'm not really going to worry about making it very smooth, because I'm going to wrap them both in that same black felt/carpeting that I used on the other ones. Should be beneficial also in holding it all together even better. The guy at the upholstery shop I bought the foam from said that's what he does whenever he has to rebuild a bolster that way, hasn't come back on him yet.Leave a comment:

when you get down to the final shaping of the curves you can use an electric sander or a DA to keep it smooth.Leave a comment:

Today I rebuilt the destroyed bolster from the other seat. Get ready for mass picage!
Good bolster from the left, what's left of the one from the right:
Outline of a rough piece in the shape of the missing part:
Glued in place with 3M 77 spray adhesive:
Second piece of foam to continue thickening bolster:
Added a few more small pieces at the top to get the height right:
Now comes the really detailed and prolly PITA part, shaving it down to match the other side. More pics to come later!Leave a comment:

Yeah, sure. Andy is the one that actually made them, but we said we'd probably do sets of them for sale if there was a demand for them.Leave a comment:

I just stumbled upon a local pair, hopefully he emails me back.
Josh, are you willing to make an extra set of brackets for some $$$?Leave a comment:

if they are four bolt on the bottom, you can make or buy rails for them so they will fit in the BMW.
i was cruising through the for sale section a couple of minutes ago and saw that someone had a set of them for sale. not me but here is the link. the porsche sliders are the same
you can source some seat sliders from a 924/944/911 and weld them to the stock BMW rails also like i did.Last edited by der affe; 12-02-2008, 08:49 PM.Leave a comment:

No, the Corrado Recaros are made from unobtainium. They have much smaller bolsters, but are still true Recaro's (in that they don't use a VW bottom half.) I'll dig up a couple pics when I get a chance.Leave a comment:

Basically you're going to need to buy or make brackets for any Recaro seats that aren't OEM e30 BMW. The seats should technically fit fine, its mounting them in the car that can be a bit tricky and cost money.Leave a comment:
