year of manufacture doesn't really make a difference with the vw seats though. the "early" ones were used from 85-89
and the lates were used from 90-92 except for the Helios blue ones which were always the late style

The early ones are true recaro design seats. The newer ones were made by VW. So basically they are VW seats with Recaro embroidery. So are we going to do a group buy to save on shipping?
so that makes mine cooler than josh's right???????
I think so. Yours are the ones I really love. I remember back when I just turned 16 my friend had a red jetta with your seats in it. I can recall talking about how comfortable they were. At the time I didn't much care about this stuff though.
Well, posterity, you will never know what it cost us to preserve your freedom. I only hope that you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it.

I've never heard of anything like that. Where did you hear that?
Back in the day when i used to be a hard core dubber. Now i'm only a part time dubber at beast. There should be a manfacture sticker on the bottom of the seat base with a rainbow colored recaro tag and fabric codes. I beleive it shows the origin as well.

the EASY way to mount them if you use Porsche seat rails and weld them to factory BMW seat rails.
you can keep the stock seat belt mounting points and the Porsche slider rails fit snugly in between the BMW rails. they are welded on the inside and outside. the metal will tear before the welds will break, there is a total of 16 welds per seat
i DO need to button weld in the front seat mounting hole on the BMW sliders though
