    Aftermarket steering wheels

Im thinking of getting a momo millenium or race wheel, and i just have couple questions.

    - what's the part number of the hub that i need to buy?
    - is there a quick release hub to take the wheel on/off when i park? If so, where can i buy one that would fit the car?
    - will these steering wheels (350mm) make it significantly harder to see the speedo?

    thanks.

I have a Momo Race, it's a great wheel. The Millenium is a bit too bling imho, but whatever floats your boat i guess.

    - You'll need hub number 2006
    - Dunno about the quick release hub. I believe Sparco make one that is compatible with the Momo stud pattern.
    - My Race is a 350mm wheel. If you have short legs and sit quite upright (like me), then yes, it will block your speedo from 3-5krpm and about 80-120km/h. I reclined my seat a little and put two half inch spacers behind the wheel so now it sits a little higher and closer and feels and looks spot on.

the more I see it the more i think those milleniums look like shit inside our cars. I'd stick with alpine or the good old Mtech 1/2

            you are right it is.

Except I park my car on the street all most every night, and it wouldn't be a bad idea to take the wheel inside when I park.

And yah millenium is a little bit too bling, I'm leaning towards to race wheel right now. Those are just the two options because I found a deal on them.

I'm going to be picking one up this fall for my car. There is a company, I can't remeber their name at the moment, that makes a street-legal quick release that is specifically designed as a theft deterrent. Every hub and wheel has a different pattern so they aren't interchangeble. Seems like a damn good idea to me.

i'd rather use the club, but shit, if a real theif wants your car, they'll get it. Dont need a steering wheel to tow a car away.........

I agree, if someone really wants the car, they can get it. I think its a pretty good deterrent for the petty car thief, though.

i was actually thinking about the steering wheel.

Having a momo wheel might be enough for some to break into the car. Without it, I might save myself from havign a broken window.
I just think that if Im gonna be buying a hub anyway, i thought why not get a quick release one also, so at least when i leave the car at night, i can take the wheel with me.

Shit, you can steer a car w/a pair of vice grips clamped onto the steering column.

Don't underestimate thieves. Have a better mode of protection than removing the steering wheel.

"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

Its not like it would be the only mode of protection. I for one will certainly be investing in a nice security system for my car.
