My clutch M/C decided to puke its guts and ooze brake fluid onto the carpet. Since I purchased the car not so long ago, I didn't know how long it had been leaking. So, I removed the carpeting, and luckily everything is in good shape underneath.
So, now I have the choice: try and save the carpet, or, replace it.
Is there any way to neutralize the brake fluid that's already soaked into the carpet? I can try power-washing and steam cleaning the carpet. But, I'm afraid that won't get all the fluid that's soaked into the foam backing.
Otherwise, are there any good sources for replacement carpet? My understanding is it's NLA from the dealer, and the fit-and-finish of the BAV Auto stuff is so-so.
Thanks,
Jonathan
