Making a passenger seat into a driver's seat...

The driver's sport seat in the 325is I just picked up is basically shot-torn bolster, leather splitting, broken backrest, etc. I have the opportunity to pick up from a member here a good condition passenger sport seat with no tears, splitting, and the piping is intact. I understand I can just swap the rear seatbacks without any issue, but what is the best option for the bottom portion? I would like to keep the levers and adjusters on the correct side, so I guess my only option is to swap the cushions and the leather over to my drivers seat base.

Any other options, opinions, or instructions on how to properly do this?

I would have an upholsterer swap the leather for you from one to the other.

Just swap all the foam/cushion to the other one. Plus, while you're at it, take the foam to a drycleaner or alterations shop to have it steam cleaned. It will help "puff" it back out a little and fit a little more snug.

Go to a local hardware store (i'd call and ask first) and pick up a box or two of these large hog-ties along with the special plyers that go with them.




I removed all the seat covers on my last car to clean the fabric much better than on the cushion.

not that hard at all, but yea, steam the foam to get the shape back. But its hoged all around so get a good hog ring plier and get a good set of hog rings.
