    steering wheel recovery

Ive got a momo typ v36....it needs restoration bad....is it something i can do? I am somewhat proficient with a needle but ive only sewn cloth, not leather.

every shop i called wants at least 300....i say no.

I would also like to know how to stitch items like these....i can't find any type of reading material to guide me

Can you post some pictures of it?

i did some research on this a few months ago. i think this is very doable yourself it will just take time and patience. I know there is somekind of special needle in order to pull the thread through and tight. I think you will find some good info with a google search, that is what i did.

if the leather is not torn i would suggest the leatherique dye, i just did my mtech 2 and it came out great! good feel etc.

agla does factory wheels for not too much...its those custom wheels that i have a hard time trying to find someone who actually knows how to do it from scratch.

i have put wheelskins on cars before (jeep wrangler, 85 s10 blazer)

they can look decent, a pita to put on, it really depends on the wheel shape as to how good they will look in the end. probably the best "cheap" fix you will find.

It is very time consuming work - hence the high cost. You might try TJ & some of the custom upholstery shops - don't believe all you hear, some are great shops that do quality work.

Really great sites. I think I'm going to purchase one of their one piece shift knob and leather boot combo, seams like a good price? $59.95 or something.
