    Convertible soft top sealing

I have a little annoyance. My brand new convertible top is leaking in a couple places. The leaks are in same old places that everyone has, along the rubber seals, plus on all my threaded seams. Did I miss something on the installation for sealing the seams or did World Upholstery(the place I bought the top) just do a crappy job sealing the seams? Is there any product I can put on the seams to seal it or do I need to get a new top and reinstall it. PLEASE PLEASE tell me I can seal the seams!

I know, I know....there is a search function but nothing answered my question.

    Thanks

Search Raggtopp convertible top products. I have treated my 5 year old top with it and it never leaks at the seams. Only occasionally, during hard driving rains, it will leak at the front seal. My best suggestion is to always carry a dry towel under your front seat for drying up leaks.

I will give the raggtop a shot. I was thinking of trying to fill each stich with some kind of plastic or glue to seal it up. Any thoughts? And the towel is an inevitable must. In fact I have one in my car right now. I will replace all the rubber seals and top straps next top replacement along with the rubber around my front corner windows. Untill then I am searching for a HARD TOP.

      Thanks

Which brand/model is your replacement top? Are you happy with the quality? Looking at the $199 ones on ebay...

I just bought an E30 convertible this weekend, first thing it needs is a top or a hard top.

Wow I am finally back at the forums! Sorry for the really delayed response. I ended up grabbing some silicon water sealer and some foil back tap and running it along the bows under the top listings. The top ended up being perfect after that. I did call up the company and they offered to refund my money and pay for me to ship it back. I ended up keeping the top. World upholstery was the company I used and the price was around $450 shipped. The top looks factory and fits like a glove. Will I do my next top installation, heck yes, but this time around with the right tools. Get a glue spray gun, make your life easy.

I will throw up some pictures tonight. The vert has been a garage queen for the winter while a oil pan gasket replace/e36 steering rack swap/motor/trans mount goes on. Not sure what V@V is?
