    2dr vs 4dr carpet

OK i searched around a little and i couldn't find the answer to this:

    Will the carpet from a 4 door (87 325e) fit in a 2 door (318is)?

I have access to this carpet for my 318 and i am not sure if it is worth tearing up carpets quite yet. Thanks for your help!!

www.realoem.com shows them to be the same part numbers for either a 2 or 4 door car. So I would assume it will work, but I have not messed with looking at the two to see if there is a difference between them...

Maybe someone else can chime in if they have messed with doing this before

Actually that is a really good point. I didn't think to look it up on realoem.com, thanks!

what year is the 318? if they are both pre facelift they should fit, and if one is preface lift and the other is post face lift it might fit.

The only part that is different on the carpets is the back section directly under the rear seat. The 2 door has squared edges like the seats, and the 4 door has rounded corners. They will fit, just not exactly the same.

i never actually ended up doing the carpet swap. With a closer inspection i found out the carpet i was going to swap was really badly stained, and i would rather find a clean carpet.

I think the ends where the doors are are different(by the A/B/C pillars, and also where the seatbelts mount to the floors for 2 doors will have a hole.

also the iX has a different floor style as well as I am pretty sure but not 100% pos. that there is a difference with cars that have the climate-control A/C system.
I have also noticed that the floor on a 88 325e super eta U.S. specs has a different floor shape an a bar or 2 by the drivers footwell-- not sure how much of a difference that would make.
