my friends E30 318is and my old E30 M3 both had Recaro stickers on mounting rail closest to the trans tunnel on the outside of the rail. They were clear stickers with white lettering.

Well, I dunno. I saw a really slick install of one, he had it screwed down with absolutely no gap between the overlap and the quarters.

You're a real funny guy, you know that? Haha, and no way in hell do 535is wings look better. Ribs are +1 but overlap to the quarters are -2.

If I sold you that wing, I'd be somewhere around west Texas right now, broke and out of gas. I've already apologized for this; you'll find another one.

    535is wings look better, anyway.

How much do you think unpaired nuts sell for on the black market? ;)

I'd give one of my nuts for a pair of the E30 Recaros posted in that brochure by Kronus. I can't remember where but I saw a pair in the exact color and cloth of my interior.

    Lee, you're wrong.

BMW offered Recaros installed as an option on some euro e30s. I have them, they didn't come in my e30 stock, but they are option e30 seats. Here's the flyer:

That's not correct. You could get Recaros as an option in the E30. I've seen several brochures showing them as an available option.

I think Dan Lora (M42Technik) has a copy of the brochure showing it, and his seats are E30-option Recaros.

Recaro couldn't keep up with BMW's demand for sports seats during the E30 line line, so BMW built their own.

This story tends to seem accurate as E30 factory recaros seem a lot more prevalent in the earlier models.

Indeed. The e12 M535 and several variations of 6 series (especially the early ones) had Recaros similar to the e21s, but in thick buffalo leather.
