I bought my replacement seats from somebody who didn't know what the harness was for. They snipped them off and I have yet to rewire them up. :(

You can buy just the heating elements and wiring, no need to buy different seats.

The only caveat I can think of is that you'll have to buy the correct heating pads for your seat type. Whether it's horizontal stitched (m3/convertible) or vertical stitched (325is).

            Nope.

No heated seats in my 318ic. 318i must be low on the option food chain.

I'd like to know who did the work on your seats. It's one thing to re-cover seats & it's another to have them done the way yours look, i.e. OEM! Your seats (& the interior in general) look great. I want my interior to look that good.

No - it was an option. I retro-fitted them on mine.

This place is like catholic school, 2/3 of the students smoke weed on a daily basis, but the faculty seems to convince the outside world that drugs are just in the other schools, the resident pot dealer thinks he's cool because he has the originality to call anyone he doesn't like a homosexual, and most of the little children follow him like sheep, then there's the few with brains, you hardly ever hear from them, perhaps don't even know they exist, but they get all the sh!t done.

Was the wiring harness preinstalled at the factory, or did you need to buy one?

Had to buy one - easy to install.
