    Seat Covers

Do any of you know of good seatcovers for the sport seats? I'm unsure if the universal covers would work because the sport seats are quite wide. I'm trying to keep my seats dry and in good condition...

Just buy new covering. Several companies online sell prestitched new sections, and you can buy a whole seat kit. All you so is take the seat apart, remove existing leather, and stretch the new on.

Rob on this forum may also be able to help you with that.

Are you looking to recover bad upholstery, or just keep good upholstery in shape? If the former, what are the issues that need to be addressed?

If the latter, BMW makes/made seat covers, and I'm sure you can find a set on Ebay. But frankly I never did understand the concept of covering nice upholstery with a cover, except if parked/in storage.

I have the BMW seat covers for the front. But I never use it, because imo it looks nicer without.

I've got a set too, and don't use 'em for the same reason.

"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

Whelp, my seats are in decent condition. However, I have a slightly leaky top. Sometimes I have to leave towels on the front seats (thats about where it leaks - on each side) to soak up the water. Obviously I plan on fixing the leak, but I also want to keep the seats clean in general. I do landscaping and sometimes I'm messy when I drive. Oh, and my seats are cardnal. :x

So basically I'm looking for some washable seat covers that are somewhat water resistant. I'd get those generic covers but I don't know if they'd fit on sports seats. I found this, but it just looks.. weird.

Not sure how'd they wold look mounted. And besides, those kits usually require you to take seat apart to reupolster. BMP sells a cover - not good enough to count as reupholstery, but good enough for a cover.

ahhh i love my redone sport seats. So soft when i sit and they cushion me so well around hard corners.. gotta love soft sport seats. :P

All my passangers tend to like them very well. Even though i hate having people in my car.. some fucker busted my ashtray i spent a good amount of money on aswell as couldnt seem to roll the fuckin window up and we had a rain storm.

when i first got my car from the original owner, they had the genuine bmw sheepskin covers that were made for the non sport seats. they looked kind of funky and didn't fit exactly like a glove, but my interior was shot to shit so i sported them. the main thing is the bucket part of the seat will tend to make the cover roll inward, but other than that its not terrible.

my seats eventually got recovered, but i just wish i could have sold you them. they were lost during the process of moving 3 times in 3 years :(
