    M-tech 2 steering wheel - differences

So I know that most of the steering wheel is leather, however I have seen some suede ones too.

My question is regarding the pic below, it seems to have a perforated leather cover. Is this stock, or has this steering wheel been re-covered? It looks pretty nice.

      ah ok. Thanks.

Looks like a pretty decent re-covering job though.

i had a question about the m-tech 2 wheel, too. is it the same diameter roughly as the non-m-tech sport wheel (i mean the basic 3 spoke without the m stripes)? i have the sport wheel and it is a monster, lookin for something smaller.

My mtech 2 wheel is a bit smaller in diameter but the wheels is thicker overall. Makes it look about the same size as the sport wheel.
Depending on my stance while driving sometimes the turn signals and top of the tach and speed gauges gets cut off with the wheel, whereas the sport wheel never did that.

There is a M-tech II wheel that is the same size as an M-tech I and that is common on ebay. It's for the 5er.

Nope that's a sport wheel. The M tech II wheel for M5's were the same size as the M-tech I wheel 385mm.

No, that is the 3-spoke sport wheel.

Not an M-tech I nor M-tech II wheel.

Thats strange - we never got "sport" spec e30s here. I guess the closest thing would be an SE spec. I've seen the same wheel on a 5er. Cheers.

sport wheel doesn't mean it came on the "iS" sport cars. In fact, it didn't. They received the M-tech I wheel. If your cars never received the 4-spoke wheel, then that very well could have just been the norm for RHD cars.

hey another question. Is this wheel below look like the original suede wheel, or do you think it has been re-covered?

Detail is not good enough but appears to be a recover.
